Care and maintenance

How to clean and take care of quartz countertops?

This is the most common question from everyone who has quartz countertops. The easiest way is to use a microfiber cloth to clean with mild detergent and water. You can also use a mild cleanser, such as Vim, with a wet cloth to clean the surface .

Quartz countertops are non-porous and harder than marble and granite. They are also heat resistant, but it is still advisable to avoid putting hot pots and pans directly on the surface, instead use a heat resistant pad to protect the countertop.

How to clean and take care of Granite countertops?

Granite is a porous natural stone. Although it is very hard, stains and bacteria can penetrate the stone itself, therefore sealing granite is an important part of maintaining it. If granite is not sealed, cleaning it is important to prevent stains and cross contamination. Fill a spray bottle with ½ water and ½ alcohol, add a few drops of detergent. Then spray it on the countertop and let it sit for 5 minutes. Lastly, wipe it with a dry paper towel.
